Blackened Cajun Seasoning

A flavourful and spicy blend featuring loads of paprika, cayenne, garlic, pepper and oregano. A touch of sugar creates the signature blackening effect, cooking quickly without burning. Bold, but not too spicy or overpowering. A classic with chicken or fish, or try it in a gumbo or jambalaya. Makes 4-6 servings.

All you need:
- Blackened Cajun Seasoning (included)
- 4-6 150 g (5 oz) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Cooking spray or melted butter

All you do:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat until very hot (about 5 minutes). While the skillet is heating, spray both sides of your chicken breasts with cooking oil (or brush with melted butter) and evenly coat with the Blackened Cajun Seasoning. Place the chicken in the hot pan, sear for 2 to 2 ½ minutes per side, and transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink inside and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
